Lead hvac trainer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HVAC Trainer to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be BPI certified with a strong background in HVAC systems and green construction. This role is crucial in developing and delivering comprehensive training programs, ensuring participants gain practical skills and knowledge essential for success in the HVAC industry.
Location: This is a remote role that will require frequent travel to locations including Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA; Greenville, SC.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and refine curriculum for HVAC training programs, incorporating industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Conduct hands-on training sessions for participants, covering topics such as installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems.
Provide site supervision during practical training exercises to ensure safety, compliance, and effective learning outcomes.
Collaborate with instructional design teams to create training materials, presentations, and assessments.
Utilize construction experience to build and maintain HVAC labs, ensuring they are equipped with relevant tools, equipment, and simulation setups.
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment and foster engagement.
Support struggling learners by providing additional resources, personalized instruction, and ongoing mentorship.
Travel to various locations as needed, up to 75% of the time, to conduct training sessions and supporting program initiatives.
Qualifications:
BPI (Building Performance Institute) certification or equivalent in HVAC preferred.
Extensive experience in HVAC systems installation, maintenance, and repair, with a strong understanding of construction principles.
Proven track record in curriculum development and training program design, preferably in vocational or technical education.
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information and mentor/train diverse groups of learners.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring training environments are safe, conducive to learning, and compliant with industry standards.
Experience in managing and maintaining HVAC training facilities or labs is highly desirable.
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Familiarity with supporting struggling learners and implementing strategies for student success.
Salary range: $75,000- $90,000
